Hello Saturday Morning

Good Morning, Sheldon E. here.  When I woke up this morning there was cold, white stuff on the ground and falling out of the sky.  Mom said it was snow.  Now I don't know what the purpose of "snow" is; but, I don't think I like it.

It's been an interesting week around here.  Mom and Dad have been saying the computer isn't working right and it seems to make them very frustrated.  I have made a lot of progress in doing my business outside; I'll do anything they want as long as I get a treat!

I'd like to introduce you to Mom and Dad.  Here's a picture.
Mom and Dad

You may notice Mom's hair is still growing back after Chemotherapy for breast cancer.  She's doing really well, and we go for walks everyday.  Well, unless it's snowing.  Or raining.  I noticed that while we were on our walks Mom was talking out loud.  She says things like, "Thank you, Jesus, for that pretty yellow birdhouse.  It makes me smile."  And, "Thank you, Jesus, for those lovely flowers.  You know how much I love wildflowers."  I asked her why she was saying all that and wasn't she worried someone would hear her.  She told me the only thing that mattered was that Jesus heard her.  That it is important to have an attitude of gratitude.  We aren't always happy with our circumstances but there is always something to be grateful for if we look for it. She said God did Not give her cancer but has been with her the whole time and for that she is grateful.
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. " 1 Thes. 5:16-18

She just told me to remind everyone that in the next few days she hopes to start adding quilt blocks she likes along with her favorite quilt shops.  Oh, and I am supposed to invite everyone to Porter Mountain Fellowship. That's where Mom and Dad go to church on Sunday.

I will be going to visit my Auntie N. and my Cousin Chloe this coming week so it may be a while before I can post again.

In The Beginning...

Sheldon E. here. Being a sophisticated, intellectual pug, Mom helped me set up this blog.  I could have done it myself but she insisted on helping.  Back in the day, or so I hear, she used to help her kids with computer stuff; now she has to call them to help her.  Amusing to say the least.  Anyway my purpose here is tell you what is going on in my life and in my household, and to share some insights I've garnered about life in general.

But first, a little autobiography.  Mom and Dad adopted me after my first two families gave me up.  I don't know why I was given up; but, I have found my forever home.  I have lots of aunties and uncles and cousins, both canine and human, and I am very happy here.  I came home with my family just as Mom was finishing her radiation treatments for breast cancer.  I believe she'll have something to say about that eventually. Anyway, you never know what you may find on this blog, because it really is about everyday life.  The good, bad, and...uh, the ugly. Check back often.
That's all for today,
Sheldon E.
